This piece is the vital counterweight to my portrait of Ian Paisley. Together, they represent the miracle of the North—two men who carried the heavy baggage of war and chose to unpack it together. In this portrait, I wanted to capture the steady gaze of a man who looked past the grievances of yesterday to ensure his children inherited a different tomorrow.
